West Glacier Timing Checklist

Free printable from Frontcountry
West Glacier / Apgar / Going-to-the-Sun (west side)
Print or save to phone. Check boxes as you plan.

Rule: Park rules and vehicle reservations change. Always confirm on Recreation.gov and the official NPS Going-to-the-Sun Road pages before you drive.

Who this is for

Not a guidebook. Not a guarantee of entry, parking, or weather.

1) Fix your dates before you fix your hikes

Timing tip: Build one recovery morning into every 3–4 park days. West-side plans fail when every day is a max-effort alpine push.

2) Vehicle reservation & entry timing (west corridor)

Going-to-the-Sun Road corridor access often requires a timed vehicle reservation in peak windows, separate from park entrance fees. Treat this as a planning step, not a rumor.

Honest line for guests/hosts: A reservation is permission for a time window — not a parking guarantee at every pullout.

3) West Glacier / Apgar day-shape (use this skeleton)

Pick one primary objective per day. Circle it.

Day type Best for Leave lodging by Be at west gate / Apgar by Back / flexible by
